- Meta has agreed to lease its first AI-enabled data center in India from Reliance Industries, a new 168 MW facility to be built in Jamnagar, Gujarat, with options to scale further.
- The deal deepens Meta’s longstanding partnership with Reliance, which began with a $5.7 billion investment in Jio Platforms in 2020 and now spans connectivity, commerce, enterprise AI, and physical infrastructure.
- The Jamnagar data center will be powered by renewable energy, cooled with desalinated seawater, and fully funded by Meta for its energy and water use, supporting Meta’s global AI infrastructure and its goal to deliver more advanced AI capabilities to Indian users.
